Wighton Collection Open Access Wighton Heritage Centre | 10am - 12pm | Free The Wighton Collection is a treasure trove of traditional music from Scotland , England , Wales and Ireland . Containing over 700 titles, the collection includes the Orpheus Caledonius (the first ever printed volume of Scots Songs, circa 1725), the Bunting Collection of Irish music, and various works by James Oswald and Neil and Nathaniel Gow. A specialist will be on hand to guide musicians, students or interested amateurs around the collection. In the early days these were men and women who left behind them a homeland rich in the oral tradition of song and ballad singing; an inheritance which they carried with them wherever they went. Their legacy is apparent to this day.
