Dundee Women's Trail Meet at St Pauls Cathedral | 11am | Free Dundee Women's Trail celebrates just a few of the amazing women whose lives touched this city. The 25 women commemorated by bronze plaques in the city include artists, trades unionists, social reformers, suffragettes, and a certain Frances Wright who fought for the rights of all men and women in pre-abolition America. This special festival walk through the streets of Dundee will end at St Pauls Cathedral, in plenty of time for the Sheena Wellington & Wilma Kennedy concert. In association with DCA We're delighted to present a UK premiere from a world class musician: Catriona McKay. Catriona has composed a new score for an early film classic, and will be performing it live with Alistair MacDonald (laptop) and a string ensemble. The Film: The Story of a Boy is an early Norwegian film classic. It follows the story of a boy who is suspected to have stolen a teacher's clock. Fearing punishment, he escapes on a ship and becomes a shepherd on a farm before joining a criminal gang. The Musician: Catriona McKay is a world renowned harper and composer from Dundee. She was awarded Instrumentalist of the Year at the Scots Trad Music Awards in 2007 and plays in many bands and ensembles, including Fiddlers Bid.
